# Tracing.start() method

Starts a trace for the current page.

**Signature:**

```typescript
class Tracing {start(options?: TracingOptions): Promise<void>;}
```

## Parameters

**Returns:**

Promise&lt;void&gt;

## Remarks

Only one trace can be active at a time per browser.
