# Configuration.cacheDirectory property

Defines the directory to be used by Puppeteer for caching.

Can be overridden by `PUPPETEER_CACHE_DIR`.

#### Signature:

```typescript
interface Configuration {
  cacheDirectory?: string;
}
```

#### Default value:

`path.join(os.homedir(), '.cache', 'puppeteer')`

fix: update documentation on configuring puppeteer (#9150) This PR updates the docs regarding configuring puppeteer. In addition, some changes have been made to the documentation generator to show default values on the documentation site.
